Anda Gallery 2

Anda tektites are highly collectable - the radial patterns are very attractive. Anda sculpture is caused by etching within soils. I've acquired some more Anda tektites in recent times, so here is an update! Scale cube is 1cm.

I'm afraid that all these specimens are in my private collection and are NOT FOR SALE.

ABOVE:  A 219.8g Anda Indochinite disc found in 2003 on the border of Thailand-Laos. The top photo shows the anterior, middle posterior and base is side view. This is certainly amongst the best Anda's in the world and the best Indochinite Anda I have ever seen.

ABOVE: This 371.5g Philippinite Anda Sphere came from Bicol. I bought & exchanged this from Des Leong. Tektites like this from Bicol are exceedingly rare. This is the only one I have ever seen in the flesh from Bicol, although I am aware of a nicer one weighing 600g and owned by Milan.

ABOVE:  a 197.8g ANDA Philippinite. Locality not known, but thought to be North Luzon (?Pangasinan area)

ABOVE: A very nice 65.3g Philippinite Anda. Looks better in colour actually - but I deleted that image :-). Locality unknown, but thought to be North Luzon.

ABOVE:  A 67.5g Philippinite Anda. Locality not known.

ABOVE:  A 66.0g Anda Philippinite. Locality Unknown.

ABOVE:  A solid 188.2g Anda Sphere Philippinite. Locality unknown, but probably North Luzon. This shows the very fine type of Anda sculpture.

ABOVE:  A 147.5g hollow sphere. This one contains a bubble(s) around 31.7mm diameter based on the specific gravity. Not an Anda in my opinion, but I bought it in the same batch and you can see a 'flower' like pattern which looks like heavily etched Anda pattern.

ABOVE:  A 45.5g Philippinite from an unknown locality. Top is the Anterior, next the Posterior - note traces of sigmoidal Anda sculpture, then two side views. Now this is a nice and largely unweathered 'biscuit' core form.

ABOVE:  A nice 34.9g coarse Anda Philippinite. Locality not known.

ABOVE:  A pretty 50.8g Anda Philippinite. Locality not known.

ABOVE:  A 56.9g Anda Philippinite. Locality not known. As above probably North Luzon (?Pangasinan).

ABOVE:  This is a neat 76.0g Anda Philippinite. Locality not known.

ABOVE:  A 56.5g Philippinite core. Top is the anterior, middle posterior and base is a side view. Note the sigmoidal Anda V-grooves on the posterior surface.

ABOVE:  Another nice 45.4g Philippinite core. Top is anterior, middle is posterior, base is the side view. Note the sigmoidal V-grooves on the posterior.

ABOVE: A posterior view of a 56.0g core. Note the sigmoidal Anda v-grooves on the posterior.

Thanks for looking at these wonderful Anda-type tektites in my private collection!
